HS Science Olympics
Michigan Science Olympiad
An academic competition that is based on a wide variety of scientific topic and activities, Team members work together on topics such as biology, earth science, physical science, astronomy, forensics, and ornithology. Hands-on learning is encouraged as students build structurally sound towers, design accurate catapults, create Rube Goldberg devices, develop battery buggies and mousetrap vehicles, launch rockets, and complete lab work. Students develop skills in applying the scientific method to experimentation, inquiry, and investigation, using critical thinking to isolate and solve problems.
